NBC cancels FREE AGENTS

After NBC announced two days ago that they were giving full seasons to both UP ALL NIGHT and WHITNEY, yet remained suspiciously mum on FREE AGENTS, I've been waiting for the axe to fall.  And fall it did.

NBC just announced that they're pulling the new workplace comedy after only four episodes, making it the second new show of the season to get canned (after THE PLAYBOY CLUB, another NBC show).  FREE AGENTS averaged only 3.3 million viewers with a scant 1.0 rating for 18-49.  That was simply not good enough to keep this mediocre freshman comedy limping along, which is too bad considering there are much worse new shows this season, one of which has already been awarded a full season (*cough*whitney*cough*).

So sorry, Hank Azaria and Kathyrn Hahn.  You two were amazing.  But look at the bright side: now you can move on to a show that actually deserves your talents!

How do you feel about FREE AGENTS getting canceled?
