NBC orders full seasons for UP ALL NIGHT and WHITNEY

Seems like half-hour comedies are winning this year's pilot race, with NBC's UP ALL NIGHT and WHITNEY becoming the second and third new shows to be given full seasons after FOX's NEW GIRL.

Among the all-important 18-49 age group (which is usually the producers' sole focus on how well a show is doing), UP ALL NIGHT has averaged a 2.7 rating (which means 2.7% of all people between the ages of 18 and 49 in the United States have watched it), while WHITNEY has received an average of 2.9, the highest rating for NBC's new comedies.

While I'm thrilled that the hilarious and well-written comedy starring Christina Applegate, Will Arnett and Maya Rudolph has been picked up, I'm also genuinely baffled that the painfully unfunny WHITNEY has survived.  I guess it's not surprising considering it has the highest ratings, so my confusion lies in how it has been garnering such a large audience with such horrible material.

Regardless, congratulations to these two freshman shows.  Now the question is which of them will survive past its first season.

How do you feel about UP ALL NIGHT getting a full season?
